About this speaker
Dr. CI Weimin is currently a professor and the Vice Director of Key Laboratory of Genomic and Precision Medicine, Beijing Institute of Genomics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). She got her PhD from Institute of Biophysics, CAS in 2004. And from 2004 to 2009, Dr. CI pursued her postdoctoral training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Cornell Medical College, respectively. Then, she joined the faculty at Beijing Institute of Genomics at 2009. Her research interests including epigenetic mechanisms during development and tumorigenesis especially genitourinary cancers, kidney cancer, urothelial cancer and prostate cancer. Through integrative programs combining cellular/molecular biology, and powerful genomics technology platforms, she is focusing on her translational research on two main research areas: the use of epigenetic modifications in urinary DNA for non-invasive disease diagnostics including early detection of cancer, and understanding the contribution of epigenetic heterogeneity in cancer development to identify drug targets and to improve in patient survival and quality of life. She published extensively in journals including Cell, Cancer Cell, European Urology, Genome Biology, Clinical Chemistry and JASN with over 40 peer reviewed articles.
